The Global Montessori School of Ormond Beach was inspired by the work of Dr. Ambar J. Chavez-Saleh Cipolloni and Dr. David C. Cipolloni in West Volusia Country at Pierson Montessori Center, who brought the opportunity of a quality Montessori education to families of the farmworker Mexican community. This received state recognition by Governor Lawton Chiles, national recognition as a Program of Excellence by the Zero to Three organization, and was awarded a Federal Early Head Start grant for young children. They trained teachers and improved programs throughout Volusia and Flagler counties, including (then) Daytona Beach Community College.
The reputation and experience of Dr. Ambar & David Cipolloni as devoted professionals was the foundation to take the opportunity in serving the community with the quality of a Montessori approach to early childhood development. They opened their doors December 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church in Ormond Beach to the need of families that were displaced from a closed program. They served children from three weeks to five years old until August 2013, when because of expanded growth relocated to Christ Presbyterian Church (CPC), also in Ormond Beach.
After two years at CPC the need for growth again arrived. In addition to the relocation at North Old Kings Road in Ormond Beach to provide preprimary, primary, and early elementary Montessori education, will be the start of the Global Montessori Research Institute and the offices of ACS Educational Resources. The overall purpose of the endeavor is to provide consultation and training educators, families, and other professionals in Montessori pedagogy and philosophy. The vision is to enhance the opportunities for children to develop academic, social, and personal success in an increasingly global society, guided by the principles of respect, harmony, and love.
